How to take Admission to Study in the UK?

Step 1: Choose your course from the variety of courses available at universities in the UK.

Step 2: Check your eligibility for the course you are applying for.

Step 3: For taking admission to the undergraduate courses in the UK, students need to apply via UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Services). Apply via the UCAS portal.

Step 4: For taking admission in the UK, with all the required documents, students also need a Letter of Recommendation (LOR).

Step 5: Once applied via the UCAS portal, students need to submit all the documents to the online portal.

To study in the UK, Indian students need to have a student visa. This visa allows them to study in the UK and stay in the UK till the course period they have applied for.


Students need to take in mind that the visa process may take 15 to 45 days to complete. So students need to start their admission process and visa process accordingly


There are 2 types of student visas, Tier 4 student visa, and short-term student visa. Tier 4 student visa is for those students who are 16 years old or above and the course duration of the course they are applying for exceeds 11 months.


The short term visa is for the students who are applying for the short courses. The time of these short term courses does not exceed 11 months.

There is an application fee for a student visa which differs by the type of visa you are applying for


• For tier 4 student visa it approximately charges around Rs. 29,000. This is subject to change as per the currency rate. But it is a rough idea of the application fee.


• For short term student visas, there are two different fees for different time spans.


• If a student is choosing to stay and study in the UK for 6 months then the application charges are around Rs. 8000.


• For an 11 month stay, the short term student visa application charges are approximately Rs. 16,000.
